There are so many things that I love about essential oils. They can be used for a plethora of issues. As I approach the big 5-0, one of my favorite things to use oils for is my skin.
For some reason, many people view wrinkles on men as a sign of distinction and wisdom, but when women start to get wrinkles, well, it’s an entirely different story.
Slow skin cell production, thinning skin layers and a lack of collagen proteins causes wrinkles to form on your skin. Collagen is a protein within your body that gives your skin structure. It provides stretchiness or elasticity so you can move easily. As we age, we start to lose it. Our skin starts to become less elastic, lines and creases that form in your skin. Some wrinkles can become deep crevices or furrows and may be especially noticeable around your eyes, mouth and neck.
I’m not a fan of using chemical products, least of all on my skin. This is my protocol for helping to keep the wrinkles at bay; as much as I can anyway.

FACIAL CLEANSER
doTERRA Facial Cleanser contains Tea Tree and Peppermint CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade™ essential oils. These oils are known for their ability to purify and tone skin and support a healthy complexion. Natural cleansers of Yucca Root Extract and Soapbark Extract gently wash away impurities leaving skin looking clean, fresh, and smooth.
I have used a TON of different cleansing products over the past few decades. My favorite, by far, is this one by doTERRA. The combo of Tea Tree and Peppermint is outstanding. It is refreshing and uplifting in the morning and relaxing at night.
YARROW POM
I basically use this as my moisturizer. I normally apply it to my face after washing it and let my skin drink it in for 5-10 minutes prior to putting any make-up on. It is formulated for your entire body, though I usually only apply it to my face, neck and chest.
- Yarrow essential oil reduces the appearance of aging skin and promotes the look of young and healthy skin
- Pomegranate Seed Oil is rich in punicic acid and supports the skin’s natural barrier
- Jojoba, Sunflower, Avocado, Grape Seed and Argan Kernel oils increase hydration and help prevent normal signs of aging
- Pomegranate esters help promote the appearance of bright, smooth, even skin
- Coffee Seed Extract is a skin conditioning agent that helps increase the appearance of smooth skin, improves skin texture, and rejuvenates the skin
ANTI-AGING EYE CREAM
I started using this eye cream when I was 43 to help fight fine lines and try to help the dark circles under my eyes. It seems to be working and I love the way the steel roller ball feels when I roll it under and around my eyes.
doTERRA Anti-Aging Eye Cream combines clinically proven ingredients with CPTG® essential oils of Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, and Blue Tansy to target the signs of aging around the delicate eye area, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time. This is an expensive oil so I’d like to offer you some money saving tips.
- This blend comes undiluted. You can get an empty roller bottle and dump half into the empty bottle. Then top both bottles off with your favorite carrier oil. I use Grapeseed or FCO. Two for the price of one!
- Make your own. A friend of mine was asking me about what to use on her skin just last week. I told her to use what she has on hand. She made a roller with Frankincense, Lavender and Helichrysum because those are the three oils, of the six, that she had in her stash.

I love treating myself to this spa experience at home. My 8 year old daughter loves it too. There are some fabulous benefits.
