TOP WAYS TO USE THIS EXTREMELY VERSITLE HERBALICIOUS ESSENTIAL OIL

When people think of this herb they usually think of Italian food. While it is definitely a spice that is a key ingredient in many Italian dishes, there is way more to it. Oregano is a herb from the mint, or Lamiaceae family. People have used it for thousands of years to add flavor to dishes and to treat health conditions. It features in the Mediterranean diet. The Greeks and Romans associated oregano with joy and happiness. The essential oil is especially versatile. Oil manufacturers dry the leaves and stems, then steam-distill the plant matter to extract as many compounds as possible.

The primary chemical component of Oregano is carvacrol, a phenol that possesses antioxidant properties when ingested. Due to its high phenol content, caution should be taken when inhaling or diffusing Oregano essential oil; only one to two drops is needed. It is also a very hot oil, so dilution is necessary for most topical applications.

I have a friend whose boyfriend wears boots for work everyday. For years, he has suffered with a foot fungus, specifically on his toes. Apparently, it was so bad that his toenails were completely fused to his toes, making it impossible to clean them and very hard to trim them. He never went barefoot or wore flip flops because he was embarrassed. Enter Oregano essential oil. After 2 applications, it was completely cleared up. After over two decades of fungus and embarrassment he was totally blown away by the incredible transformation. He now uses Oregano preventively twice a day just to make sure the fungus never returns.

How Can I Use Oregano Essential Oil?

This oil can be used all the ways. Topically, aromatically and internally.

Topically: Diluted with a carrier oil and applied to your skin.

Aromatically: Add 1-2 drops to your diffuser or inhale from the bottle.

Internally: If a bottle has supplement facts it is safe to take internally. Add several drops (2-3) to a veggie cap or add 1 drop (or less) to food recipes.

Cooking

Add a little flavor to your favorite Italian cuisine with some Oregano essential oil. Oregano oil is spicy and herbaceous and will add the perfect hint of flavor to spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, roasts, and much more. When your Italian recipes call for ground oregano, simply replace it with one drop of Oregano oil for a delicious seasoning. One drop of Oregano oil can replace one tablespoon of ground oregano. (sometimes I just dip a toothpick in the oregano oil and stir that in the sauce)

Enhance your meals by adding some Roasted Marinara Sauce infused with Oregano and Basil oils. You will be amazed at how something so delicious can be so easy to make.
